The Kshitij team members have together a wealth of Himalayan knowledge as well as experience of running outdoor learning programs for children. The team is led by individuals who understand the unique and specific environment needed to hone a child’s potential. Each team member is passionate about his/her work and strives to excel at their individual activities.

The commonality that runs through all members of the Kshitij team is the commitment to provide a safe and fulfilling experience to each child, helping them to spread their wings and emerge as confident, responsible individuals.




The core team comprises of -

A chemical engineer and an MBA from NMIMS, Mumbai, he is an outdoor enthusiast with over 15 years of experience in this field. He has trekked, climbed and rafted across all regions of the Himalayas, both as a part of groups as well as a group leader. Before he founded ‘Great Indian Outdoors,’ he worked with Hindustan Lever and Reliance Industries.
She may be a software techie by education and profession, but is a hard core outdoor and nature lover who has chucked her corporate world to work for her passion, which in her own words is ‘Children, Outdoors and Animals’. An extremely active mother of three, she is someone who understands the importance of the outdoors in building a child’s character. Her undivided passion is the driving force behind making Kshitij hugely successful. She has lived and worked in the United States for 9 years and has been constantly involved with children’s learning projects.
Surely the most popular instructor at GIO, Ravi is trained from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling. He is an excellent river guide and kayaker and has been a part of river expeditions across India and Nepal for over 10 years. His inherent skill with people matches his skill on the river. He is a constant feature on all the camp games and activities, organising logistics and assisting participants.

A mountain man turned chemical engineer whose love for the Himalayas has brought him full circle, back to a life filled with the outdoors! A popular instructor on children’s programs, his life in the mountains has taught him the importance of safety, which he applies to all programs while looking into every aspect of the logistics involved.
Game for any foray that has the word ‘outdoor’ associated with it, Tamal is most willing to do anything it takes to show people the splendours of the Indian Outdoors. Not only an MBA from NMIMS, he has also undertaken training with 'Project Adventure' USA on experiential learning, which he has applied in the design of this program. He is an avid rock climber and has immense experience in facilitating a host of children and adult programs.

In addition to being another one of the team whose heart beats for the outdoors, he has considerable experience working with children. Closely associated with ‘Yatrik’, Delhi’s oldest theater company, he has conducted several theatre and communication workshops for children. Filmmaking, still photography and Salsa dancing are the feathers in his cap. He is an accredited NLP practitioner and works towards developing and honing communication skills, motivation, group dynamics, etc.
A Cost Accountant and an MBA, he has worked with ESPN-Star Sports and Lowe Advertising before joining Team GIO. Today he has logged an innumerable number of hours as a trainer who gets to core issues and innovates to provide participants with real and relatable experiences. He is an accredited practitioner of MBTI, from the Asianic Psychologists Press (APP), Australia. His interest in the field of communication is second only to his passion for the outdoors.

With over 25 years of experience as a teacher and in handling various children’s programs, her interest lies in creating a program that promotes self learning. She has an eclectic background which ranges from her extensive experience in the field of education and child development to her love of travel, to being an avid painter and a voracious reader. Her determination and dedication to make a difference in the lives of children along with her contagious spirit easily makes her one of the kids’ favorite personalities at camp.
ived and worked in the United States for 23 years. While in the US she belonged to a hiking group and hiked in places like California, Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, British Columbia in Canada, Mexico and Italy. Having travelled the length and breadth of western and eastern Europe as well as the US, her sense of adventure includes meeting people from all walks of life. A mom, herself, she enjoys interacting with children of all ages!
Holds an MBA from NMIMS, loves the mountains and has been with GIO since its inception. A man of few words, children seem to take to him effortlessly. He is the backbone of Kshitij, overseeing all aspects associated with the programs. Before coming on board with GIO he worked with Geoffrey Manners in brand management.
A mountain girl to the core, Keya has a deeply instilled love for the outdoors. With years of experience in adventure sports and activities, she brings her love for nature into all her projects.

As a mother, she is hugely popular with children and understands how to encourage and motivate youngsters. She is also passionate about writing and poetry and has traveled and interacted with children across the country.
Trained from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Bharat has trekked and climbed extensively in the Himalayas. Apart from this he is known to be one of the finest river guides in India, having run most of the rivers in the country. His easy going style and an ever-smiling face makes him very popular with young children and teens.
 
Other instructors along with their highly trained assistants, working with the core team, are extremely experienced and fully equipped to handle the program needs. An efficient kitchen staff caters to the nutritional needs of the participants and our security staff maintains a constant vigil to ensure safety at all times.
