A blended and holistic approach to adventure learning would also
entail the participants learning some exciting skills and partaking
in activities that improves their adventure and outdoor quotient.
These activities also develop lateral thinking, something that is
critical in the outdoors and the world at large.

| Rock Climbing
and Rappelling |
As an activity that requires
intense focus and innate trust in people and equipment,
climbing has very few parallels. It instils a
sense of mental and physical discipline that is
hard to replicate elsewhere.
The essence of
a climb is captured in the look of serenity and
tired composure when a successful team cracks the
moves to reach the summit and survey the trail. |

| Trekking & Alpine
Camping |
Trekking is the most multi purpose
of all outdoor activities with each individual
having to chip in and contribute to the entire
groups well being. It's the kind of fun that requires
multi-tasking and the ability to take all kinds
of people along.
There cannot be a better classroom
for people interaction than a group of diverse kids
meeting for the first time and agreeing to disagree.

| River Rafting |
Rafting ranks amongst the most
high-adrenaline activities that the outdoors has
to offer. Combining thrill and a great sense of
adventure with discipline and team work, this
sport is a unique learning experience. It brings
in a sense of oneness with nature and teaches
you to keep your head firmly in the right place.

| Kayaking |
A Kayak is a category of small
human-powered boat and is a covered variant of a
canoe, typically used with a double-bladed paddle.
Whitewater kayaking is the sport of paddling a kayak
on a moving body of water, typically a river. Whitewater
kayaking can range from a fun, carefree, splishy-splash
float trip to a challenging, adrenaline filled sport.
Kayaking sessions at kshitij will are extensive
and personalised. First, we do a combined briefing
for all the participants on the basics of kayaking
and then each participant gets ample time with their
own personal instructor to get an opportunity to
learn the sport. The Activity also works at a subconscious
level in helping the the participant overcome some
of his/her fears.

| Rope Courses
& Activities |
It is a series of obstacles created
using ropes trees, and wooden structures to create
challenges for individuals or groups. Participants
from low course elements (up to three feet off the
ground), to high course elements (20-85 feet in
the air). Through the use of support systems provided
by our qualified instructors and state of the art
equipment, the course provides a controlled situation
where actual risk is practically nonexistent.
At Kshitij rope courses are just the means and not
the end. The perception of risk in the activity
is used to catalyze individuals and groups to expand
their comfort zones, solve problems effectively,
and overcome natural fears. These fears also have
an impact on the child’s behaviour in social
situations and eagerness to try new things. Some
of the elements that we will use are Wild Woozies,
Dangling vines, Spider web and so on.

| Orienteering |
Orienteering is an endurance sport
which involves a huge mental element. There is no
marked route-the orienteer must navigate with a map
and compass while running/hiking. The map gives detailed
information on the terrain such as hill, ground-surface,
obstacles etc.
To be successful in orienteering a team needs excellent
map reading skills, well-co-coordinated team work,
planning and the ability to make quick decisions on
the best route.
Orienteers run and hike over rough ground and open
country, dealing with natural obstacles like streams
and gorges to collect flags that gain them points.
The objective of each team is to get maximum points
in the stipulated time, encouraging a healthy competition.

| Mountain Biking |
Mountain biking entails the sport
of riding bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain;
whether riding specially equipped mountain bikes or
hybrid road bikes. This individual sport requires
endurance, bike-handling skills, self-reliance and
can be performed anywhere from a gravel road to hill
trails.
Because riders are often far from populated areas,
there is a strong ethic of self-reliance and team
collaboration. Riders learn to repair their broken
bikes or flat tires while on the road. This reliance
on survival skills accounts for the group dynamics
of the sport. At Kshitij our experts acquaint the
participants with all safety drills, use of gear and
handling skills to equip them for this fun-filled
activity.
